Late sunset light on a West Maui beach

The island is the easy part. Finding out what it costs is not.

Why trust this site

Three promises, and they are the whole business model

We re-check every venue quarterly

Capacities close, brands change hands and price sheets go stale. Every venue page carries the date we last looked. The last full pass was 1 August 2026.

We publish what we could not confirm

Every venue page ends with a list of the gaps we could not close, so you know exactly what to ask on the first call instead of finding out later.

Nobody pays to be here

No venue on this page has paid us anything, and there is nothing on this site for a couple to buy. If that ever changes we will label it on the listing itself.

Good to know

Maui wedding questions, answered

Do we need a permit to get married on a Maui beach?

Yes, if anyone involved is being paid. Hawaii treats a ceremony with paid vendors as commercial activity, so it needs a right of entry permit from the state Land Division. The fee is 10 cents per square foot, per event, per day, with a minimum of $20 per event, so a two person elopement pays the floor and a larger footprint costs more. Your planner or officiant applies, not you, and they need liability insurance naming the State of Hawaii. Resort and private estate weddings do not need one. Checked against the state's own permit terms on 2 August 2026.

How far in advance should we book a venue?

Popular Wailea and Kapalua venues book 12 to 18 months out for peak season, roughly May through October. Elopements and very small ceremonies can often be arranged in 8 to 12 weeks.

What does a Maui wedding actually cost?

The floor is the $20 state permit for two people on a public beach. A beachfront event house starts around $7,000 for the venue alone on a weekday. A private estate on a peak weekend runs to $14,000 before you have fed anyone. Food, beverage, service charges and vendors sit on top of all of those. Our cost guide breaks the whole stack down.

Is MauiWeddings.com free for couples?

Yes. There is nothing here for a couple to buy. No venue on this site has paid us anything, and nobody can pay to be listed or to rank higher. If that ever changes, it will be labelled on the listing itself.
